JUICE FOR A NINE MILE SMILE

New Kid Juice Co. is a fresh pressed juice company for kids and parents with kids. New kid strives to give kids an organic, low calorie alternative. More than 50% of a kid’s calories and sugars for a single day come from sugary drinks. New Kid is different. Based in Austin, Texas, the fruit is locally sourced, squeezed, pressed, and pulped. It is low sugar and so tasty that parents are gonna want one too. 

This packaging project was a part of the Auburn GDES curriculum. The charge of the project was to create a company who sells a product that is a more sustainable solution than what exists in stores today. I chose to take on the juice box. To effectively recycle a juice box one would have to break apart all the different materials including the 2-3 different kinds of plastic, tin, wax, and liquid board. New Kid aims to make things easier. New Kid wants to teach kids to break down their own packaging so that parents have no reason not to recycle. The packaging is single material and have what we like to call a “Crafter-life”. Each package breaks down into a coloring book, a set of stencils, a watercolor palette, and planter all in one.
